Alban Grenache Alban Estate 2001
Current Winning Bidder:
New Item
Starting Bid:
$115
Quantity Available:
1 "The 2001 Grenache (an 800 six-pack blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah) exhibits an opaque blue/purple color in addition to peppery, kirsch, raspberry, and blackberry aromas and flavors. With a viscous texture, medium to full body, and a gorgeous up-front style, it begs to be drunk over the next decade. Most of these wines are sold via Alban’s mailing list, so if you love Rhone Ranger wines, it’s time to enjoy these remarkable offerings." RP

Alban Grenache Alban Estate 2002
Current Winning Bidder:
New Item
Starting Bid:
$125
Quantity Available:
1 "The 2002 Grenache (15% Syrah is included in the blend), which I tasted several days after bottling, is absolutely remarkable. The problem is, there is virtually no production as the crop size was minuscule (.6 tons of fruit per acre). This wine, which is destemmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts in open-topped fermenters, and is both punched down and pumped over, may be the finest Grenache the Albans have yet produced. Classic aromas of raspberries, kirsch liqueur, and hints of blackberries, anise, and loamy soil soar from the glass of this dense purple-colored Grenache (one of the blackest I have ever seen). Tipping the scales at 15.3% alcohol, this monumental Grenache is a tribute to just how great this varietal can be in Edna Valley." RP

Kongsgaard Grenache/Syrah 2006
Current Winning Bidder:
New Item
Starting Bid:
$85
Quantity Available:
2 "In 2006 we were able to co-ferment one ton of Grenache with an equal portion of the Hudson Syrah in 600-liter open-top oak fermenters to create our shot at the southern Rhone. You will recognize Grenache’s astonishing raspberry and strawberry fragrance mingling with the brooding gaminess of the Syrah. The hedonistic finish of this wine rides on the silky tannin for which the Grenache in Spain and France is so justifiably famous" Winery Notes
