How We’re Different
While there are currently several excellent online wine shops, wine auctions, wine magazines and information sites (ask us and we’ll be happy to give you their addresses), we believe Brentwood Wine Company is unique in providing a joint service focused on bringing lovers of the finest wines together with producers of these wines and assuring that efficient communication and sales of these rare products occurs to both groups’ benefit.
What We Are Not
While we offer exceptional wines below retail in our wine shop (some priced for everyday consumption) we do not view ourselves as an everything-for-everyone wine retailer. Likewise, while we offer our rarest wine by auction, we are not solely an online wine auction house. While we provide information on understanding and enjoying wine, we are not primarily an online wine magazine. And we definitely are not an advertising or sale-on-commission site or a wine-of-the-month club.
What We Are
We view ourselves as a meeting place for a community of wine lovers who enjoy the very best wines and want to share their enthusiasm with others. Our site is a place to visit (perhaps with a glass of good wine in hand) to enjoy this interest and to find otherwise all-but-unobtainable wine, at a good price with the assurance that the wine has been well handled. It is also a place to find out about, and obtain, the up-and-coming great wines, before they are well known. Finally it is a place to learn about and make contact with producers, consumers and industry professionals.
Our wine shop focuses on very low production (usually less that 1000 case/year) labels of exceptional quality that we or other industry experts have given their highest ratings to. We also have a few higher production wines that are priced way below their quality levels that make great wines for everyday drinking. We offer these below retail price. You’ll probably never see most of the wines we offer at your local wine shop.
Our wine auctions are small and frequent. We acquire product only from sources from which we can be assured of the best storage conditions. We are not simply a sales-on-consignment auctioneer.
Our information is fresh. We update portions of the site daily, so there’s always something new. We encourage direct contact and feedback from our customers.
We come into the business from the standpoint of both a consumer and a producer, and work to provide service to both.
